Thorndyke Chronicles: Operation Jasper
It actually IS the end of Thorndyke…
Jasper tore him to shreds because apparently glue smells good to puppies.
In other news surrounding this image, the talented folks at Creaturebox created a pattern to build the “Thorndyke” papertoy (instructions included!), and a photo manipulation contest!
.
The idea was to craft the toy, and set him up in various poses, places and situations to take pictures. This seemed like an excellent opportunity for me to stalk my canine companions with a camera, in hopes to create some form of comic book style submission. After a month on flicker, and tons of entries, five were selected for a final Vote-Off…
.
.
If you’ve got a minute, and enjoy my work, please head over to www.creaturebox.com, click the “VOTE” icon (on the right sidebar) and select yours truly! Help my puppies win me some original drawings by the creatures!

Moon Sheep
Someday, I want to illustrate a book.
.
I will fill it with whimsical nonsense, factual fiction and surreal illustrations that won’t necessarily reflect the content of the book. Let the salivating begin! Unfortunately, my literary genius will not be available for perusal until I stop playing torchlight and write it find a supportive publisher.
.
Until that day, you can feast your looking balls on the works of Graham Roumieu! His collection of Bigfoot memoirs are BRILLIANT. I highly recommend that you and everyone you know read:
.
.
These books allow the troubles of your day to disappear into the tender caring feet of Bigfoot.

Tribal Archer
In my abundant amount of spare time I’m designing a tribe. This archer concept was created with 5 broad ideas in mind:
.
- Wooden Mask
- Bone Weapons
- Tattoo/Markings
- Warm Climate Tribe
- Animal Armor/Clothing
.
I tend to keep my lists short because then it has less boundaries and more room to grow. The list was made after a couple of body shape sketches and from then on I tried my best to make the archer fit the bill.
.
In the future I’ll be creating a few more character concepts of what some other classes and types might look like, so if you like this guy, stay tuned!
.
Hungry
I’ve just recently started doing all of my sketches and cleanup in Sketchbook Pro 2010.
.
It’s AWESOME!
.
SBP is especially good for either a Tablet PC or a Cintiq, because it’s specifically designed for use without a keyboard. It also has a pretty impressive ellipse tool that allows you to make perfect circles and still retain line quality. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s got an all access, 15 day, non-consecutive Trial Version! This is a MUST have for 2D artists in the digital realm. Go now, gentle readers, and enjoy the wonderment of the only reasonably priced product autodesk has to offer.

Behold
I need to create more categories for this blog… I think I’m defeating the purpose of them by only having two. That said, I just got a pretty sweet fold up easel! Hopefully I’ll get into a traditional/tactile painting in the near future, and I’ll have something to put in a new category!
.
On a separate note, I’d like to direct all 7 of the people that visit this marvelous website to check out the very skilled Devin Taylor. His pencil work is phenomenal, and he firmly believes that he is Batman.
